Hi, Dubhe looks to be on the meridian, so at 22:53 UT, Dubhe GHA 143° 26, giving a Long of around 143° W. Ho looks to be about 30°-40°, so I would guess the Lat to be about 60° N. This would put he ship position off the South coast of Alaska, South or therabouts off Kaliakh River
I may be totally wrong - last time I tried a puzzle on this site - I ended up in the wrong ocean!!
