Some might get a chuckle from the followoing, some will perhaps roll their eyes, to each their own.
My expeience with CN, my not being a boating type, I get seasick on small boats, is usually limited to the following. Standing about in the parking area of our apartment complex, shooting sun lines (am/pm) with a Davis Artifical Horizon, I can't seem to get a mirror AH to work, spring and fall trips to Eastern N.C., and now and then shooting across the "Mon" River, at the Science Center, Pittsburgh PA, Perhaps I'm to easily amused, but read on.
Yesterday I shot AM/PM, sun lines, reduced and plotted the sights. My calculated fix was just under 1 NM from DR position (GPS coordinates), nothing earth shaking here, but there is "human input", that including my less than facile efforts with an Astra 111B. Sight reduction is certainly no big thing with an old electronic calculator. The human input, limited though it may be, stikes me as worth mentioning. Some will agree, others won't, that being the individual's call. To each their own.
