Marcel and I, between us, are making somewhat heavy weather of this question of distortion of sky angles in a camera image, and it seems to be that these arguments still have some way to run. But I am heartened by Marcel's note of 7 July, in which he appears to be acknowledging to Greg that he now accepts the result of the analysis: that what he describes as the "calibration function" must have some sort of quadratic form. Although this argument seems to be providing a bit of enjoyment to its participants, and has some relevance to navigation, in regard to possible use of a camera, it may not be the sort of question to interest many Navlist members. I wonder, if Marcel and Greg agree, whether it might be the time to take it off-list, and deal with it backstage between the three of us. But if any other Navlist member (just one would do) is following the discussion, and sticks his hand up to ask for it to be kept on-list, I for one would go along with that request.
