I also am confused with the d factor correction for Venus. I am using an on-line almanac, Nautical Almanac.com(2020). For example, I want to find the declination for 18:45 GMT on the 2nd of January,2020 and I obtain a declination of 17° 36.6 degrees. The correction at the bottom of the column is v-0.6 d0.9m-3.9. Since declination is decreasing, I enter the corrections page for 45 minutes at 0.9 which gives me a value of 0.7 which I subtract from 17° 36.6 to give me 17° 35.9. My question is now: do I now do the same with the -3.9 but with seconds? Opposite 3.9 I find 3.0, is this to be subtracted from the seconds of declination ie.05 from the minutes to give me 17° 35.85?
