Re "deconstructed Latin", re motto's and such, consider the following. Again bear with me regarding my really awful Latin.
Simper in excretum, solis humus profundum variat, which translated into English reads as follows. Always in the shit, only the depth of which varies. Upper- classmen might have tried drilling freshmen with the foregoing.
Once upon a time, I hand lettered that ringing phrase, in "Latin" onto a fairly large piece of cardboard, gave it to my wife, who hung same prominently in her office. Her boss, who was then second in command, my wife was third in command at County Child Welfare Services (Allegheny County). My wife's direct supervisor was a graduate of Duquesne University seeing the placard one day, raised an eyebrow and offered that "it was not good Latin". The lady was well versed in or so I understood.
