"We are now in June with a new
manager, Zed, at the helm, and naviagtional topics are freely flowing,
discussions are taking place. For any who are unaware, you can join
this merry band " etc.
Does "Zed" have a name? I know nothing about him. Do you?
It appears that absolutely NOTHING has been done to resolve the serious
problems with Navigation-L. If you can tell us why the list has crashed (dead for
at least three days in a row) twice in the past six months, and if you can
tell us whatever happened to the message "Compute Sun's Position" (which is
not in the archive on i-DEADLINK-com and which did not distribute to most group
members) among many others, THEN maybe you can claim that all is well with
Navigation-L. Until then, anyone posting to the webkahuna address (in other words,
Navigation-L) should anticipate that around 2% of messages will fail to
distribute while 0.1% is typical of a functioning list service. Navigation-L is not
dead, but it is still a very sick patient.
In the meantime, what are the BENEFITS of sticking with Navigation-L? There
are distinct benefits to moving the list to googlegroups, as we have already
done, so why would you encourage people to un-do a successful transition? I
encourage you to state the case, Peter, what are the benefits of Navigation-L
that distinguish it from NavList?
