The levels can be removed after the mirror is adjusted. I keep them in a zippered box with foam padding to protect them. As for circular levels, I doubt they would be as accurate as the ground cylindrical levels. In addition, adjustments are made on 2 axes at 90 degrees. The round level seems to make visualization of level more difficult.
