Well, for one thing, when you're using a reflecting artificial horizon like that, you're effectively doubling your precision. You're measuring double the altitude and halving the result, which reduces an error of (for example) 0.5' to less than 0.3'. You're also eliminating the need to correct for dip, a source of error. And getting out from behind the window glass helps too.
With that said, you might want to try another session or three, perhaps with diferent weather or at a different time of day, to see if things change.
