Starting from the DR. The DR is a position
you want to be (Dead Reckoning) and you think you are heading there
from your known position your heading, distance and
the speed of your boat, taking in consideration the current and the
wind
direction. There is nothing to calculate here.
After the time you spent to get to your DR you take a running fix from one or
two are three Lines Of Position (LOP) and put it on
the chart and you see if your DR was right.
The formula to find speed, distance and time if you
know to of is 60D=ST
(60xDistance=SpeedxTime) you can manipulate that to
what you need.
