Andres,
Alex was right in reporting that there is a Pistor & Martins reflecting
circle in the "Deutsches Schiffahrtsmuseum" in Bremerhaven.
This is a list of museums holding reflecting circles:
Germany:
Museum für Technik und Verkehr Berlin: 2 instruments
Deutsches Museum München: 1 reflecting circle, 5 Borda circles (in the
Geodesy exhibition)
Schiffahrtsmuseum Brake/Unterweser: 1 Borda circle
Deutsches Schiffahrtsmuseum Bremerhaven: 1 Pistor & Martins circle
Schiffahrtsuseum Rostock: 1 Pistor & Martins circle
UK museums, of course, have quite a few:
National Maritime Museum: 12 circles (according to Hill/Paget-Tomlinson,
Instruments of navigation; Willem Mörzer Bruijns upcoming book on sextants
etc. should give more information)
Whipple Museum Cambridge: 7 circles (according to Bennett's catalogue
"Astronomy and Navigation"). See the excerpt from Bennett attached.
France:
Museé de la Marine: at least 3 circles (I take this from pictures that Jan
Kalivoda sent to the list 5 years ago)
United States:
Peabody Museum: 5 circles (according to Brewington, Navigating instruments)
Mystic eaport: 7 circles (according to their website
http://mobius.mysticseaport.org/info.php?f=category1&type=browse&t=objects&s
=INSTRUMENTS+-+CIRCLES
Smithsonian: 6 circles (according to their website
http://americanhistory.si.edu/collections/navigation/type.cfm?typeid=5
Israel:
National Maritime Museum Haifa: 1 circle (see picture attached)
Closer to you:
Spain:
Museo Naval Madrid: the "Catálogo de instrumentos náuticos y científicos del
Museo Naval" does not contain a circle.
Portugal:
Museu de Marinha: At least 3 circles. See the pictures I took last year
attached.
Finally I am attaching a short article on the Pistor & Martins circle.
Regards
Wolfgang
P.S.: The quote in your post ("...es de muy poco uso...")from Fontecha
refers to p. 191 (not 199) of that publication.
