You could do much worse than acquire a Russian station pointer. I own a "PRM" (the cyrillic looks like a pi followed by P and M). It is of 60 mm radius with micrometers reading to one minute. The arms are 240 mm long, 525 with extensions. The workmanship of the instrument is of very high quality, but as is common with Russian instruments, the case lets it down, as the instrument was prone to rattle around in the box. A little woodwork soon put this right.
