Here are two photos of my qick test on the locking mechanism. the tube is - by modest torque - expanded by 1/2 to 3/4 of a millimetre in diameter, although the aluminium tube is quite rigid. Shoud do even better with the laminated paper tube. In case it doen't prove practical Garys plugs will help. The outside of each of the segments will be padded with felt or rubber for proper friction on the inner of the intermediate tube. (See drawing posted earlier) Wolfgang
