Dave and Frank. I was just finding some success at getting to sleep at night despite recurrent illness. And now you attack me with this wonderful stuff about the magical maths of Google Maps. Joy! Carry on the great work. I'll be Googling tonight! As Byron said “Death, so called, is a thing which makes men weep, And yet a third of life is passed in sleep.” Pleasant dreams. Francis
Francis. It’s amazing what you find if you work your way though all the functions of these things. Another one to try is “OS Maps”, which works OK on “Internet Explorer”, but it works best on “Google Chrome”. That will do much the same as some of the functions on “Google Maps”, but it understands the UK National Grid. I only started experimenting with these sites, because someone said to me “It’s no use giving kids navigation competitions to do. They’ll only cut and paste from the internet”, so I thought “If using the internet’s inevitable, let’s give them a quiz where they learn to explore the internet scientifically and pick up a bit about navigation at the same time” Well I don't know about the kids, but I certainly am. You concentrate on getting better now, and don’t stop up too late Googling.
