    I confirm your experience.
    My first Casio bought in 1989 for $25 worked more than 7 years
    on the original battery and I hardly ever adjusted it.
    I always had it on my wrist, even while swimming or taking shower.
    The strap had to be replaced at least 5 times.
    Finally the part to which the strap was attached broke,
    and the watch had to be replaced (by another Casio).

    Casio watches and calculators (at least some models) have
    really amazing performance and durability.
