I received an email today from Yves Robin-Jouan's wife informing me of the sad news that Yves was killed in an accident on April 30. Many of you had the opportunity to meet him at the Navigation Symposium at Mystic Seaport Museum in November of last year, and you heard his interesting presentation on the mathematics of "hybrid" navigation. He was very kind, intelligent, with a sharp wit, and very French. He told me after the conference that he had a wonderful time and tremendously enjoyed meeting so many navigators including members of the NavList community in person.
