The point I was trying to make is that although the point might have more chance of being your position than anywhere else, there’s a lot of anywhere else, so depending upon the sources used, the actual probability of you being within a mile or two of your MPP might well be pretty small.

This is especially true when completing boat maintenance jobs and invariably leads to a significant band of error in the order of -0 to +90 minutes! DaveP
