Did you try, or have you heard of, my trick for getting the exact time for the central line? Plot your sights on thin graph paper or even a transparency and then fold it in half, loosely at first. Hold it up to a light.

That was the bit I couldn’t remember, and I couldn’t remember how long ago you posted that advice, so I didn’t attempt to look for it. In fact, if I simply take the times where the graph crosses my horizontal axis and take the middle, I get mer-pass a minute later, which at 53N puts me 9nm further west. So I still need a bit more practice. DaveP
