A (not so) Brief History of Lunar Distances
    From: Ed Popko

I have rediscovered this well written and researched paper on the evolution of lunar ephemerides and the use of lunars to determine longitude. Perhaps it appeared in previous posting on NavList, I did not look. This paper is well worth a read if you have an interest in lunars.

A (not so) Brief History of Lunar Distances: Lunar Longitude Determination at Sea Before the Chronometer by Richard de Grijs, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Macquarie University, Sydney Australia.
