Today's email from aviationweek.com included the text of an article on carrier-landing automation (not quite automation... it's a highly-sophisticated fly-by-wire system). All that famous tension and fatigue from carrier landings is about to pass into the history books. Some of you may be able to access the full article here:

If not, I found this review article very informative though it's two years old (the project has apparently advanced on-schedule since then):

Clearly the aircraft has become a robotic bird. The pilot is only suggesting behavior. How long before it's voice-driven?: "Hornet: Land on carrier now... A little higher please, Hornet... Left two meters, Hornet... Open the pod-bay doors, please, Hornet."
