You're welcome, Greg. Shufeldt later did "The Calculator Afloat" with Kenneth E. Newcomer. My (used) 1980 edition came with extensive errata sheets, most of which had been entered by the former owner. Nonetheless, it gave me a heads-up in programming my HP35s, as he offers examples in both algebraic and RPN. Essentially, you solve the problem before hand and the only thing the slide rule does is to refine the decimal digits of accuracy. That's why many structures that were created with slide rules appear to be "solidly constructed".
