On starting new subjects

As I've noted previously, if you intend to start a new subject, it's a
good idea to start with a fresh email message. In other words, don't
reply to a message in an earlier thread, "back out" the current
subject, and type in a new subject. For those people who follow the
list strictly through google's web interface (less than 10% of the
membership), messages like this that are replies with edited subjects
are still placed in the same thread. For members who follow the list by
email only, there is no visible difference --a new subject is a new
subject no matter how it's created and the threading is invisible. But
you will be doing a small favor to those who do not follow the list by
email if you follow the above instructions.
-FER
PS: This is not a law or anything. You don't have to follow the above
advice. I'm simply pointing out that if you do it this way, you're
helping out the "google web interface" readers of NavList.
