Frank is able to produce the entire volumne using an existing set of star selections. As an exercise, I wrote an excel spread sheet that produces the results for an arbitrary latitude and GHA. Input is a list of star RA's and Dec's. I came up with a set of "star selection rules" that weighs angular distribution and brightness and altitude. I could not find any documentation of how the air nav tables make their selection. Anyone?
