    Hello:

Based on recommendations by this group, I went to the Naval Museum in Madrid 2 weeks ago.  Probably the best 3 Euros I spent on the entire trip. No line!  The line at Prado was one hour or more ( but my wife found a way to buy a “cut the line “ ticket also for 3 Euros ,another good deal).

The Naval  Museum is absolutely terrific with many great models, maps, instruments. historical items, etc.  I was still suffering time zone whiplash and almost missed  1/4 of it including a new exhibit on the modern Spanish Navy. The Museum is all on one floor with some dead end sections where you must go back  for an adjacent loop/corridor. As has been said here, very worthwhile for 2-3 hours or more ; especially if you are can read Spanish. The  Museum in Barcelona is being redone and has some temporary exhibits. Did not go there.

    Doug,

Two previous posts describe the Naval Museum in Madrid, Spain. One of the very finest in the world.

Its navigation instruments collection is extensive as you will see in the posted images.
