I had my eye on a rubidium clock for a disaster prepper navigator's atomic chronometer eg http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1PC-Used-FE-5680A-10MHz-High-Precision-Rubidium-Atomic-Clock-In-Good-Condition-/322371597200?hash=item4b0ed83390:g:dJ0AAOSw-0xYYmku Plenty of web sites on projects to make a clock using one of these and an Arduino. I was also thinking you could do satellite a little differently with your own atomic clock.
