    Although not a way to display time, I just realized that a metronome app I have on my smartphone can be used to keep track of the time without having to look at my watch. Set to 60 beats per minute, it ticks the seconds perfectly.

    I did have a "HUD" app installed, which would display a mirror image of the time to be reflected in a car windshield. This might have been a good way to reflect the time in the horizon mirror, but it didn't display seconds.
