But he wasn't the first man to circumnavigate the Earth. That was Henrique, Magellan's Moluccan slave. Captured from his home, by an earlier expedition, he was taken to Lisbon, and then sailed with Magellan. So when he reached the longitude of his birthplace, he had been right round the world, before any of the others.
