Oops, George, your formula is right. What a comedy of errors.
I am sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase. Your formula didn't seem to
square with one I had which gives topocentric zenith distance form geocentric:
tan zeta' = (sin zeta / (cos zeta - R/D))
R = Earth radius, D = distance of object.
But the formulas ARE equivalent. I made the same error twice when working mine
into the shape of yours.
Frank, thanks for checking. Maybe you overlooked that George works with
altitudes?
