    CP-300/U USAF Star Finder

I am re-posting this article that highlights the main features of the CP-300/U and contrasts them with the better known 2102-D star finder. I first posted it several years ago; there were mismatched illustrations and some technical inaccuracies. I appreciate that Gary LaPook found them.

Recently, I met a US Air Force Strategic Air Command celestial navigator who flew in C-97 air refueling tankers during the cold war (late 1950s early 60s). He had seen the CP-300/U. Before giving him a copy of the original paper, I decided to correct errors and expand the comparison of the two star finders. Attached is a copy. I want to thank Brad Morris and Robin Stuart for their advice. No matter how hard one tries to rid bugs, nothing works better than informed fresh eyes. Thanks to both of them.
