Back in December 2008 I made several posts comparing different methods of sight reduction. The sine-cosine method runs into problems with logs of negative trig values which is avoided with the haversine method. But it is suprising that it took until 2015 for Greg to find a way around this problem since other great minds had spent centuries working on the problem.
