Any US friends fancy visiting Greenwich and seeing it at the Holy of Holies? I’m going 19th August but doubled with London hospital appointment, so can’t organise anything unfortunately. Either way, looks to be a good thing either here or US The new Longitude prize is millions and general science based, not longitude for obvious reasons. Should be good though.( I have a feeling the 1714 thing was also “progress in science “ as much as “find the longitude”. Hence the ages it survived on.)What do you all t think?
What a wonderful thing we are all into!

Richard,
Do you know the dates and cities of the U.S. tour? I look forward to seeing this exhibition.
Thanks.

With the tercentenary of the 1714 Longitude Act almost upon us, Royal Museums Greenwich is gearing up for a series of events that should interest NavListers.

This major exhibition opens on Friday 11 July and will run until 4 January 2015. It will tour to the USA and Australia after that - more details to follow.
More information at http://www.rmg.co.uk/whats-on/events/ships-clocks-stars
