Dave,
Just came in from my initial attempt at cleaning out my gutters. As I looked at the trees, I wondered why I was even bothering. Not that I am complaining about the mild October and November we are having, but the trees seem really confused. I'd estimate that only half the leaves are off.
Anyway, what generates the red circles in pick7, and what generates the stars themselves? It seems there is a red circle where Rigel should be, but no Rigel. Maybe your next messages will tell me.
Stan

For Stan's conditions:
The 1947 preliminary 249 picks 6 not 7. It chose, dubhe, pollux, betegeux, aldebaran, alphertaz, and deneb.
My algorithm pick7 selects 6 of the HO249, but misses one. Looking at a plot of altitudes and azimuths (attached), I can't understand.
