Thanks, Paul!
I live in the SF Bay area and there has been absolutely no mention of this, even by Silicon Valley's comprehensive and influential newspaper, the Mercury News. On my "definitely stop to see" for my next visit near Stanford.

Our new Rumsey Map Center at Stanford Libraries opens tomorrow. It contains one of the World's largest collection of antiquarian maps, including lots of celestial/navigation materials. It is also the world's most advanced digital map center -- even if one can't visit the campus, a growing cross-section of the collection is available online as hi-res zoomable images.
