Once again, I keep really enjoying your computation skills.
Since on my side, I had to tackle and did solve - albeit in a different manner - this same problem (initially for Transits on the Sun disk) I am submitting to NavList in this attachment an algorithm which also derives the time and distance of minimal geocentric distances between 2 moving celestial bodies.
To the best of my understanding : although both methods are related, this one method here differs somewhat from the one published by Jean Meeus in the early 90's.
I am not claiming that I am the first one or the only one to have devised this specific one, because it might very well have been published earlier or elsewhere (by whom, when and where ?).
