Belated Thanks for your comprehensive reply.
What I am specifically interested in is refraction below the horizon when at low altitudes.
The Air Tables you kindly included do list such refraction but at too wide height intervals.
At least the French did use some specific refraction tables for heigts between +5° and -5° because I have read a specific mention of their existence in the Dixmude Airship story. But they seem very difficult if not impossible to find.
